Spark Notes
Born from the chaos of COVID, aurgami is a people company, driven by community, rooted in practicality. Our focus isn’t just self-care, but on building a supportive community that makes wellness straightforward and relatable to everyone… without the bullshit.
Backstory & Purpose
We started out as two guys just trying not to lose their minds during COVID. The world was on shaky ground and nobody knew what the future held. It was hard not to be anxious, depressed, scared, or all of the above.
-
Self-care was not a term that either of us had been familiar with, however through the chaotic hustle & bustle of life and one way or another, we both had begun dabbling in things like reading, journaling, yoga, meditation etc and had seen incredible transformations.
-
When COVID hit, we both moved back to our hometown to be with family and really began leaning into these newly found habits of ours. We took better care of ourselves in general, felt better, more clear headed, found our purpose, took more risks, & connected with people on a deeper level.
-
It was clear that we needed to be in this space, so we hit the drawing board.
-
Our first plan of attack was to share the life changing benefits that we experienced through *drum roll please* YOGA. How would we do this? The “totetowel”. A revolutionary product designed and created by Connor to help people simplify their journey to and from yoga class so that they too could do more yoga!
With the momentum of creating our first proprietary product, we decided it was time to launch a full apparel line to take down giants like Vuori, Manduka, and Lululemon.
-
We quickly realized that the retail route wasn’t the way to share what we’ve learned and make a greater impact on people’s lives. So, if two, normal everyday guys can find this much value and impact from self-care, then so could many others.
-
There has always been this stigma around self-care & mental health with many people considering it to be “woo-woo-y”. It was clear to us that this has to go mainstream. Self-care shouldn’t just be for the crystal fairies, hippies, yogies, etc (we love them too).. And nothing against them, but we realized how annoying being told to meditate by someone who smells like incense and hasn’t shaved in 10 years.
-
We have dedicated the past couple of years to experimenting with different self-care practices, connecting with incredible people in the space, and learning all that we can about this. However we are not the experts, and we do not claim to be.
-
We aim to be the connectors, the bridge for all your self-care needs.
A simplified path towards taking better care of yourself.
